The Integration Superchannel in Human Design

Human Design bodygraph with the channels of the Integration circuit brought forward. The rest of the chart is greyed out.
The Integration superchannel in the bodygraph

Four gates, six channels, almost every possible connection between them already drawn. That density is what makes this structure different from the six real circuits — different enough that it is not a circuit at all. It is the Integration Superchannel.

Why “circuit” is the wrong word

Get this distinction wrong and you are in good company: it is a mistake made in print, including by the BG5 Business Institute’s own material. But it is still a mistake, and worth stating plainly rather than repeating.

A circuit — Individual, Tribal, or Collective — is a current that reaches outward to an audience. It shares a theme with a family: the self, the immediate group, or the wider world. Integration does not do that. Its six channels loop back into the same four gates in almost every combination, a tightly self-referential structure rather than a current reaching out to anyone. That is a different mechanical shape, not a smaller or quieter version of the same thing, which is why it gets its own name: a superchannel.

The four gates, six channels

10-34 Exploration, 10-57 Perfected Form, 20-10 Awakening, 20-34 Charisma, 20-57 The Brainwave, and 34-57 Power — six channels, and between them only four gates: 10, 20, 34, and 57. No other structure in the bodygraph packs this many connections into so small a set.

  • 10-34 Exploration — self-empowerment: living out your own convictions, fueled by Sacral response.
  • 10-57 Perfected Form — behavior guided by intuitive, in-the-moment clarity rather than a plan.
  • 20-10 Awakening — present-moment awareness translated directly into how you actually behave.
  • 20-34 Charisma — power expressed in the now, visible and immediate rather than announced in advance.
  • 20-57 The Brainwave — instinctive, present-tense clarity, spoken as soon as it is known.
  • 34-57 Power — raw Sacral force paired with the instinct for exactly when to use it.

What the Superchannel actually concerns itself with

Individual, Tribal, and Collective circuitry each answer to a different audience — the self, the immediate group, or the world at large. The Integration Superchannel answers to none of them. What moves through Gates 10, 20, 34, and 57 is concerned with one thing: this form staying alive, staying powered, and being fully itself, with whatever effect that has on anyone watching arriving as a byproduct rather than a purpose.

Living a self-contained structure

Because every channel here loops back into the same small set of gates, this design rewards presence over planning. Gate 57’s instinctive awareness and Gate 20’s present tense both work in the now, not the calendar, and Gate 34’s power responds rather than initiates. Trying to run it on a schedule set by someone else, or by a five-year plan, tends to blunt exactly the quality that makes it work: immediate, correctly-timed, self-powered action.

The gift on the other side of that is a kind of authority nobody can talk you out of. A form that is genuinely surviving and empowering itself, on its own terms, becomes a visible permission slip for everyone nearby to do the same — not through instruction, simply through example.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Integration Superchannel in Human Design?

The Integration Superchannel is 6 channels woven from just 4 gates — 10, 20, 34, and 57 — concerned with the survival and empowerment of the individual form: not shared with a tribe, not offered to the collective, self-contained. It is not one of the 6 circuits.

Is Integration a circuit?

No, and this is a real, commonly repeated error, not a matter of preference — it is specifically the mistake the BG5 Business Institute's material makes. Integration is a superchannel: a tightly self-referential structure built from just 4 gates in near-total interconnection, not a current that carries a theme out to a family the way the 6 real circuits do. Referring to it that way is inaccurate lineage teaching, not a stylistic choice.

Why does the distinction actually matter?

A circuit — Individual, Tribal, or Collective — describes energy moving outward to an audience: the self, the group, or the world. Integration does not move outward. Its 6 channels loop back into the same 4 gates almost completely, which is a structurally different thing than a circuit reaching out through many gates to a family. Naming it correctly is part of teaching the mechanics accurately rather than approximately.

Why only 4 gates for 6 channels?

Gates 10, 20, 34, and 57 connect to each other in almost every combination: 10 to 34, 10 to 57, 20 to 10, 20 to 34, 20 to 57, and 34 to 57. That density is the point, and it is exactly why this is a superchannel rather than a circuit — a circuit does not loop this tightly around so small a core.

Which channels make up the Integration Superchannel?

Six: 10-34 (Exploration), 10-57 (Perfected Form), 20-10 (Awakening), 20-34 (Charisma), 20-57 (The Brainwave), and 34-57 (Power). Between them they cover self-empowered behavior, intuitive design, present awareness, radiant self-expression, instinctive clarity, and raw, correctly-timed power.
