The Shattering That Made You: Crystal Cosmology and the Mechanics of Love

Ra Uru Hu's crystal cosmology, from the bundle and the shattering of the prime design crystal to why your uniqueness, and love itself, are mechanical.

There has never been another you. Not in this lifetime, not in any other. In most spiritual circles that line is offered as comfort. In the Human Design cosmology it is a mechanical statement, and the mechanics reach back to an event that took place before our universe ever held its form.

In this session we went deep into Ra Uru Hu’s crystal cosmology: the bundle, the stars on the wall, the shattering of the prime design crystal, and what any of that has to do with the yearning you feel in your own chest. Ra called these teachings cosmic fables, bedtime stories. I take them the way he offered them: abstract concepts we can land in some logic and actually live with practicality.

The Bundle, the Star, and the Shattering

Ra describes a bundle that traveled for billions of years, guided by the magnetic monopole, until it finally met its initiating place: a star on the wall. From our perspective the collision would look cataclysmic, like the hypernovae and colliding galaxies we glimpse through telescopes, shockwaves rippling for a billion years. But the same violence that ends a star seeds new planets and new galaxies. This was a mechanical development, the way a fetus organizes raw biology into systems. Something was being shaped into form. Ra called that gestating form the biverse, and we are still inside it, still gestating with it.

In the impact, the prime design crystal shattered, and the prime magnetic monopole was disembedded from it. Here is the part that matters for you: every fragment of that shattered crystal came paired with a tiny aspect of the monopole, and each of us carries one of those fragments. We were all there. The crystals that structure your very being participated in that primordial drama, and your geometry, your resonance, is the continuity of that first shattering stretched across space and time.

The Primordial Spin

The shattering hurled the monopole into a spin so extreme that trying to picture it would break your mind. And I believe our bones remember it. The whirling dervishes are recounting that primordial spin. The Celts kept the spiral (I wear one). Children spin until they collapse laughing and dizzy. Look through a telescope and you see galaxies doing the same dance. Spinning is how form emerges from chaos, and it lives in our cellular memory as celebration.

The Center Is Not in the Middle

Pass a beam of light through a crystal and you get a rainbow pattern. Shatter that crystal into trillions of fragments and each fragment, given the same light, manifests its own unique pattern. All except one. One fragment manifests the whole pattern in microcosm, and that fragment is the center. And notice: the center is not in the middle. Real shatterings crack off to the side. Some of us sit close to the center, and some of us (me, for one) are way out at the extreme edge of the fractal.

From the center, the geometry layers outward. The camel and the dog, two crystal aspects that Ra says live within our own sun, cradle the center between them. Then come the four corners, connected to the center only through those intermediaries. Then the 16 faces, the master archetypes behind every god and goddess humanity has ever worshipped or feared. And around all of it, the 66 sides, the stellar background frequencies that program us. The 16 faces split into two fractal lines, and this explains something intimate: the further apart two people sit on the fractal, the harder they may find it to truly grok each other. Resonance has geometry.

Stars Broadcast, You Receive

Science already tells us stars are neutrino engines flooding the universe with ghostly particles. The cosmology adds the esoteric half: anything endowed with a crystal of consciousness structures that stream. Neutrinos pass through Jupiter and arrive carrying Jupiter’s signature, expansive and jovial on one side, greedy for more food and information on the other. Every star transmits its own station, and you are a receiver tuned to specific cosmic feeds. Look at the white, open areas of your design. That openness is your receptivity, the places where the cosmic data stream moves through you most deeply. The consciousness you belong to is within you, always.

Love Is Mechanics

The design crystal and its monopole were originally one thing. When they separate, they build a body, and that separation creates the illusion that you are separate from the totality. Ra taught that this separation is love itself. What we call life is the monopole yearning to return to its source, and death is simply the reunion: the design drops down, rejoins the monopole, and they exit together. The end of the illusion. The rave is never one with love because the rave is the expression of love. If you carry an undefined G center, you feel this yearning most acutely, that inconsistent sense of direction and identity. That yearning is the cosmology felt directly, and it means you are working exactly as designed.

Step Beyond Comparison

Here is where the fable becomes practice. The Sanskrit root of mind, ma, means to measure, and the measuring mind will always run the comparison trip: I wish I were thinner, richer, smarter, further along. The homogenized world screams that you are not enough. I remember years when looking in the mirror was genuinely painful. What changed everything was surrender, the radical acceptance that there has never been and never will be another you, and that your differentiation is essential to the whole. You need no outside validation. The temple and its deity are ourselves.
